Meeting a contributor to MCM and a follower of TSK

Sue Midlock of Joliet, Illinois is a regular contributor to Mississippi Crow magazine. She’s a writer and a talented artist.  Joliet is only about 10 minutes from where I was visiting in Lockport, Illinois so when I planned my trip, I set aside some time on the 7th for us to get together.

Sue’s work is displayed at Gallery 1700 & Ceramics in Cresthill, IL and her notecards are available at the Lockport Street Gallery in Plainfield: Her artwork is also online at

Sue is also journaling her way through Thinking Skinny and she’s looking great! I loved meeting her and talking over coffee. She rendered me speechless when she presented me with a matted copy of one of her pieces “Girl With Crow.” I plan to feature in Issue 9 of MCM. It’s my favorite, and to be able to own a copy and display it in my home is very special. If you want your own copy, CLICK HERE. Sue also blogged about our meeting:

  1. I’m so envious! No, not of Sue following Thinking Skinny. I don’t have any weight to lose. What I’m envious about is that you two got to meet. While Sue and I have talked on the telephone once, and you and I work together, Nadia, you two are the first to meet in person. The picture of you together is just great. Maybe one day we’ll all meet up at once. Sue, keep going with your program. Nadia did it. You can do it too. Gee… I love that picture!
